    Hiya all,

Cute little cabinet vase with sterling silver overlay. Was told it was French. Does anyone have an idea?

The treatment reminds me of an agate glass vase I had from Poland, late 20th.
I've not seen one like this before, but I do think that yours is earlier.

and much better than the vase I had. My first thought was 1940's.
What does the bottom look like? Does it appear to have had a stopper at one time?

Doesn't appear to be made for a stopper. Bottom is ground like most Loetz pieces. It has really cool colors. PXL_20250707_211418920_copy_1134x2016.jpg PXL_20250707_211435336_copy_1134x2016.jpg PXL_20250707_211427975_copy_1134x2016.jpg PXL_20250707_211444772_copy_1134x2016.jpg

Just looking at the photos, I would have guessed it was pottery. BWDIK, you have it in hand.

similar one on ebay called Antique Iridescent Silver Overlay Art Glass Vase Loetz-Type unsigned

    It has a similar base.

I don't know how to link directly to ebay listing.

You can copy and paste the link here. The link won't work directly, but people can copy and paste the relevant part of your link in the search bar.

Ebay has made things needlessly difficult, but not impossible.;)

Sorta similar but really dark and the silver on mine is more attractive

The silver needs polishing -- a jewelery/sunshine cloth would do the trick! I would've picked it up just because of the silver overlay, but the glass is cool, too. :D
