    Great find(s) Komo! Literal finds.

I personally love the horned Venezuelan paper-mache ones. Such personality.

I found another one of these Huichol (Wixaritari) 'yarn paintings.' I find them fascinating. This one, sad to say, does not have any sort of explanation on the back, but otherwise I just love 'em.

I was donating food and bags to our local food pantry, and they opened a thrift shop. A pair of these things, which we guessed were planters, were outside. I asked how much for the pair, they had no clue, but they were inundated with recent donations, so I got the pair for $30. Usually my husband says "Whadda ya gonna do with them?" but he actually likes them. They have loose circular mirrors in them.

Wow! If you paid $30, and were able to sell them for $700, that'd be a 2333% profit!

I'd take a smaller profit. It's the thrill of finding, not having.

Boom! Sometimes you don't have to know what something is, it just has to "smell" good. Nice one!

Maybe a moth? I know that this indigenous culture uses peyote as part of their religious practices, and I think those may be peyote 'buttons' that the main figure is holding up. Beyond that, not sure!

    Agree.
    Peyote-induced imagery, probably.

Ha, ha. I have a little something to show! Yesterday morning at my daughter's house, I went to make myself a Nespresso coffee. I chose the wrong pod and made espresso! So i just found the right pod and added to it. I made rocket fuel and drank it!! Kept me humming far into the afternoon, so I decided to go to a thrift store. I usually look for books and collage material but old dogs don't do new tricks and I had to peruse the whole store. ;) My husband will kill me cuz we need another coffee cup like a hole in the head. New, never used Starbucks cup in an aesthetic tile pattern that they must've ripped off a real 19th c one. (It is light green, not blue as in the photo.). I know that there are collectors of Starbucks cups (probably few now!) but I think I should leave this one at my daughter's house.:playful:. Oh, and I got a senior's 10% discount!
