Both of which have had imperial and state support for centuries, so both are considered fit for the elite. Besides, Lomonosov is porcelain, not pottery. Talavera is folk pottery made in privately owned small workshops, not elite pottery made in costly factories. Two entirely different manufacturing processes and markets. You are comparing apples and pears.
I applaud them for giving sick birds so much attention.:chicken:
Again, folk pottery, made in small workshops. So apples and pears.;)

I assume they have a lot of pharmacy jars already. But it is a way to find out the age.

I were not comparing them. :jawdrop: I just wrote what exactly "white & blue" is Russian.
But! Your "apples and pears" are not a good option to describe my comments, if you already was thinking I was comparing "not comparable". Apples and Pears are both fruits, just different kinds. You should have written for example: Apple and Fish, or... Caviar and Liver.:p:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

The common English phrase is "comparing apples to oranges." To potties, porcelain and pottery are related, but also 2 different things. I get both AJ's and Wanttoknow's points.

Mine was a direct translation of the Dutch, "appels en peren". I guess we couldn't afford exotic oranges and substituted them with pears.:playful:
Caviar is even more expensive, so I'll stick with fruit.:D

Apples and pears makes sense to this American - similar, but not the same. If nothing else, there's no potential cyanide in pear seeds.

It is better. Or Caviar and Champagne. That combination is big NO for Russians. :joyful: :p 465277961_10232904282685326_5265349362916706977_n.jpg
