Featured Cat? Teapot

    This little teapot is 18cm tall. Google tells me it’s a cat although it looks more like a rat or squirrel to me.

    It has no translucency at all.

    It’s not terribly old but I do feel that it is vintage.

    Any ideas on the origin?

    I think it is meant to be a cat, but it looks like the maker never saw a cat in real life.;)
    Mainland Asia?

    I see a cat also. Could be Chinese or Japanese, and maybe older than you think. The original Maneki-Neko or beckoning cats were Japanese.

    The Japanese have had cats as long as the West has or close to it. It looks like a skinny-tailed squirrel. :p:p:p:p

    Looks like the person who made this figurine wasn't happy making it, but cat probably just hungry :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::cat::cat::cat:
