Silver Plated Apple

I assume from having a spoon, it was meant to contain something people could spoon out. Seems too large for a salt and too small for mustard or mayo being 2.5 inches tall at the top of the stem. Google Lens shows some identified as a honey pot and others just say "condiment server" and other say "trinket box". I doubt the "trinket box" ID - why would anyone need a spoon for that?

Are you sure it's not a master salt?

I'm not sure of anything regarding this item.

    Or perhaps a mustard pot?
It seems to have been used a lot without its cover, which shows much less wear.

I don't think it's for salt; salt would eat it. Sugar maybe.

There are a number of these on offer on the internet and none of the sellers are sure of purpose. But if your item is only 2/5" high with a spoon, I'd think it would be a lidded individual salt. If it were designed to hold a jam or sauce, I'd think it would be lined and larger.

If it was meant for salt it would have to be lined. Salt eats plated stuff. Maybe solid silver too, but I know it hates copper.

Maybe it did have a lining at one time, but I have 3 of these and none are lined.
I have a metallic fruit S&P shakers and they are lined.
