Featured Old Art Nouveau Floral Enameled Brooch

    This measures 2 7/8" long and 2" across. No marks. Silver color which was tarnished. Bought this from a friend whose brother was a jewelry collector. This is similar to Sweet Romance but is not marked as such. A magnet does not stick to this.

    Modern piece trying to be Art Nouveau, pretty piece.

    All the magnet test tells you there is no ferris metal, there are a lot of metals that do not attract a magnet. If you suspect silver you will have to have t tested, but, JMHO, I believe this is costume.

    Agree, it is a far more recent piece. Sweet though.
    Yes, from ferrum, Latin for iron. So a non-iron based metal. Not related to (a) Fairground Attraction:
