Bought this huge chinese ceramic horse which has some damage. It has a pleasent earthly smell to it and the glaze is dull and my tongue sticks very strongly to the unglazed white ceramic. Can't find a second one like it, only the real tang pieces with the same shape as mine. How old is it? all that dull white is the result of sanding the glaze ;) so you can probably guess thats not a great sign and created to make something look old

the linked example is a perfect example of what they were trying to achieve (by sanding)

May we see the bottom of the piece, where the unglazed clay body may be visible? Original Han Dynasty mingqi figures were made of low fired earthenware. Yours appears to be a higher fired stoneware or porcelain.

Any analysis findings available from a qualified laboratory on age or composition, what about provenance documents and/or exhibition history ? Can you give us exact dimensions and what does it taste like ?

Tang has the same pronunciation as sugar in Chinese, so if it tastes sweet then it might be a genuine Tang piece ;):D

There's a chance it actually is from the Tang Period-but the only way to truly know is to taste it !

What is strange is that you didn't post a photo of the stamp, which is the most essential part when it comes to an ID of the maker and of the age.
