Featured Elegant Japanese Comb with Silver Openwork

    Found this beauty on Chinese eBay! Tortoiseshell with a silver openwork frame depicting birds and waves, called 波千鳥. In good shape with charming patina. You can find a similar comb here, dated to Meiji period:https://museumcollection.tokyo/works/6299936/

    The museum is right imo, Meiji period.

    I also noticed the tiny birds can slightly spin:p probably not intentional, just due to old joints loosening, but image how cute it can be if the birds shake when the wearer walks!
