Good afternoon all, if afternoon it is!

Ms. G. and I just attended a national lamp show, and this is one of our prizes. It's a Parker hanging lamp from Connecticut, USA ca. 1880, with a shade with an egret painted on it and a matching smoke bell. The undercarriage is a unique cast brass Aesthetic Movement frame. It's the new boss of the kitchen!

If you can find any further information on this, especially asking prices, then I'd be most grateful.

    Cheers!

We’ll probably keep the Victorian/Deco kitchen thing going for a little while longer.

A beauty, G. Love the openwork of the brackets around the bowl.
There were plenty of homes in the 20s and 30s that still had Victorian items alongside Art Deco.

OMG. That shade & and the matching bell. What a find! I agree with Any Jewelry. People didn't chuck everything out as new styles came in. When I visit houses that have become museums and they are filled with 'period' furnishings I laugh because no one just had up to the minute stuff. Between necessity and nostalgia for family heirlooms, there was always a mixture.
