Check out these cool, 5 9/16" tall x 2 7/8" diameter, 12oz to the rim set of 7 highballs I found yesterday. They have 3 panels each. Authentic Viking Design. Tallichet? I was unable to find information on the designer? maker? Did find a few listings but no info. Anyone happen to be familiar with the name? I've checked with a mid century barware group on FB and all I got were crickets. Also, a Vintage Glass Identification group. Thank you Tallichet6.png Tallichet7.png Tallichet8.png

Tallichet from the last photo, but Tallithet is also possible. I love the "authentic viking design" description, LOL. I'd say a loose interpretation of "authentic." But the middle and right glass show a version of rosmaling and folk Scandinavian design.

Looking at the last pic you can see the dot over the i making the c look like a t. But I've never heard of either name. I'm thinking possibly from overseas from the USA. Hopefully one of our members will recognize the name.

Those 3 designs are on all 7 highballs. Each one has 3 panels.

If it's Viking I'd guess it was Danish or Norwegian.

I wonder if it might be related to the David Tallichet mentioned in reference to this cocktail napkin. Apparently owner/designer of many themed restaurants.

    ,
After I looked for Tallichet on Google,it occurred to me that it was the designer, not the company. I remember the name Vera on all sorts of things back in the 60s.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

It does look most like Tallichet. I tried searching with the double letters as c's or b's and came up with zero hits. There are some current artists with the last name Tallichet, but didn't find anybody who was old enough to have designed these. Maybe investigating the link to the tiki bar would lead to something?

Thank you all for looking. I'm thinking along the lines that Tallichet was the designer also. While David Tallichet built/opened 100+ themed restaurants I can find no mention of him designing glassware but I don't think it is to far-fetched to think that is a great possibility.

Here are some other theme glasses also with the Tallichet name. The seller doesn't know who either though. Perhaps it will help to track the maker.

"I'm a major fan of these. Obscure Tallichet. I attempted a deep dive and didn't get far. Tallichet, spelled as is, has it's roots in Switzerland first then Brazil and America. Highest population of Tallichets in the US was in the 1920s in Alabama. Soooo at first I thought these designs might be Nordic-leaning but it wouldn't surprise me if they're not just representations of Southern "chooks" throughout the 4 seasons. Gorgeous persimmon orange, gold, cocoa brown on cased white."
