    Hey folks:

Another treasure from the lamp show. This is a table lamp from the 1880s Aesthetic Movement (a personal fave...), with a mighty fine patina on the brass base. The cameo shade is English, by Webb, but the base is unmarked. If any of you eagle eyes can identify a maker, I'd love to see it.

About 10 minutes after I purchased the lamp (but had not picked it up yet), another buyer came along and offered as much for the shade alone as I paid for the whole thing. Now THAT'S the kind of appreciation we antique lovers like to see!

That shade is outrageously attractive, Hopper!
The color is beyond my ability to name...blue-green doesn't do it any justice.

That coloooor!! :wideyed: What a beautiful piece. The graphic design on the shade is so well thought out and the base so charming.

Love Aesthetic-It's a perfect blend of Victorian & Meiji (or Victorian Meiji !), plus there's frequently something woven into the design for the bug lover (@kyratango ).

I'm happy you got there five minutes before the other guy! That's one heckuva lamp. Was it converted, or is it just new enough that it was always electric?

That base has been niggling the back of my brain. Something I have seen before. Most likely English but I can not come up with anything :(
