This brooch just arrived today from uk. I have stopped researching on antique European jewelry for a while, but was still curious about this one.

Most of the brooch made of onyx and pearl I have seen are mourning jewelry, black with pearl symbolizing tears, but mine came in the shape of crescent moon, which is also associated with honeymoon AFAIK. What do you think?

Very cute! What a great find. I love a celestial theme.

I have seen another one, onyx crescent but the pearl settings are modeled as stars. That’s even cuter!
