Purchased at a sale that definitely had older items, doesn't mean this is one of them.

First glance I thought "nice and older" but then saw the hook closure. Maybe newer in an older style? It's short --15 1/4" (38.7cm).

    What do you think?

Those textile beads wound criss-cross with 'gold' thread are very Indian. It is a fashion necklace, but with traditional Indian elements.

Enameling was introduced to 16th century India by the Persians, it is called 'meenakari'. Meenakari is made a lot in Rajasthan, so that might be the origin.

Hi, thanks for taking a look. I can get a photo in a bit, but it is pretty much rounded too, the mirror image of the front. Same enamel pattern on both sides.

Thank you AJ. That does look similar.

The pendant part on mine is a pretty solid metal, not tin-like at all. I don't know if that is relevant.

The gold cross hatching is distinctive, thanks for the info on that. I didn't even realize how interesting that part was until I enlarged my own photo here the one with the clasp.

Still a bit curious about age. The very short size 15" is pretty small.
