    Hi dear Members,

I bought, recently, one of the most beautiful ring I've ever seen:woot:
It is made of silver and gold, has a large centre stone, which is 15mm x 11mm size and smaller stones around. Beautifully crafted filigree ornaments both on the front and back of the ring. The band itself is ornate silver over gold.
The central stone (I assume it is Sapphire, or blue Spinel) has an effect of colour gradient. Upper part of the stone has more intense colour than the lower part (I think it is called "Colour zoning", but I can't capture it on photos. There are some inclusion in stone, but I can see them only under magnifying glass.
The pink stones (Rubies, or Sapphires) glow vivid red under UV light.
    There are no hallmarks.

I found some pieces online that are not the same, but have similar style, however I'm struggling to determine the age of the ring. Some pieces I found were dated 1900s, another 1920s-1930s. If someone could help with more accurate dating, I'll be very grateful.
Also, I'm wondering if the stones are synthetic, I think maybe if I could date it more accurate it would help in regards of the stones origin.

As always, thank you for all opinions:)

Gorgeous ring, nastina. It is Turkish, made in the historic Ottoman style, which is still being made. That makes dating it difficult. One thing that means it isn't very new, is the fact that it has been resized.
Looks like the sapphire was treated, not unusual.

We get this style jewellery a lot here in the Netherlands, because we have a substantial Turkish population. Most pieces are not nearly as nice as yours though, they are mostly the cheaper silver and brass variety. Yours is the real deal, with gold.
They could be rubies, but they could also be 'zultanite', which is used a lot in Ottoman style jewellery. Zultanite, a type of diaspore, only occurs in Turkey

The sapphire reminds me of this: 94294b757428f6e1e11b76ecb2b20542.jpeg
The color comes from the spot at the bottom. But it still requires skill to cut and looks great! Not sure if there’s any treatments included tho

Thank You Any, I'll try to search for Ottoman style references and google Zultanite stone;)

Yes, I saw the resized area, but whoever did it, they managed to add ornament to the outer silver layer after resizing and therefor it is not visible from outside.

Interesting:jawdrop: I can't say for sure if it similar to mine, the only thing I can see is this horizontal gradient (tried to mark on photo), but I'm not sure if it is an optical effect and/or cut, or if the stone itself has an uneven colour.

Could be too :) I think, I will buy a refractometer to check if it is a natural stone, or synthetic:hilarious:

It doesn't appear to be Old old, at least to me. The sizing may have been done in the factory.
