Yellow enamel copper vase, Chinese?

    Hello all

    This vase has come into a local shop i help out in, they asked me to research.

    I assume its Chinese, but not sure where to place it in terms of quality or age.

    Yellow enamel on copper, handpainted and no marks, approx 12" high

    It is a beauty. Dark copper and no turquoisy blue base points to Japanese. My guess is mid century.

    Thanks AJ. Is there a term for painting on enamel like this? My search results just bring up cloisonne

    Are you sure it isn't wireless cloisonne?

    Nope, not Japanese, not Cloisonne, not wireless, just good ol' Chinese "Canton enamel" ;)

    Of course, still a flu head here, which went on automatic cloisonné pilot.:banghead: And I have a box full of Canton enamel snuff bottles!:banghead::banghead:
