Got this at the local flea. It tests negative for Bakelite and feels wrong for Bakelite, it feels harder, tooth tap feels harder than plastic. I am wondering if it's horn.

Toward one of the ends the color becomes lighter, I circled it with red in one of the photos.

Has anyone seen something like this? Google Image gave me a lot of not very close results, none of them bypass. Any help would be really appreciated :)

Horn...some other plastic? Are the end caps brass or silver? Did you tooth test the pearls?

I get a gritty feeling from the pearls. The metal is gold tone, I suspect brass. It will be tricky to get a scraping without damaging the pearls, I'll see what I can do :)

    Brass.

I was able to scrape the side of the touchstone on the metal between the pearls :D

One pearl looked real, but these days real pearl doesn't mean much. I'd imagine the bracelet itself is some sort of plastic. It looks familiar. The white flaws look like horn, but it looks...odd... for horn.

I've been buying jewelry for decades, I've never seen anything remotely similar to this. Can see why you got it. It's a unique piece for sure. Can't help with material just looking at it, but agree it doesn't look like Bakelite or regular plastic.

i'd think some kind of plastic, uv should rule out horn

if zero smell(under tap etc) possibly lucite ?

Not Jade, I tested it with my gem tester and the needle hardly moved at all!

I deal with a lot of Lucite and I'm sure it isn't. It's heavier than Lucite would be and not as flexible. Tooth tap test doesn't feel right either. I'm still thinking horn.

Calling @Any Jewelry does this look familiar to you?

Thank you all for your suggestions, I do appreciate it :)

It is a nice design, looks Asian inspired, but not traditional. Could be Asian made though, intended as costume.

Thank you. Do you think it may be horn, if not, what would you suggest?

It looks like some kind of plastic to me.
You can put it under a UV light and see if it fluoresces. If it is horn it should fluoresce very clearly. Mind you, some plastics also fluoresce due to the colourants used. But that should look different from horn.

Nope, nothing happening under UV light. I'm going with some kind of plastic.

    Thank you everyone :)
