Apparently "How dry I am!" I didnt hear it until I saw another one and thats what they said it played. Now I can hear it ! How weird I thought it a waltz LOL !

A few rhinestone pins plus two unusual finds at the flea yesterday:

The comb is silver plate and the bracelet, I am not sure. Tests negative for Bakelite and it feels harder that plastic to me. I'm wondering if it's horn. Anyway, I'll ask on the jewelry board :)

All of those should do very well for you at your shows. BTW - Supposedly, brooches are making a comeback.:happy:

Guys are wearing them on formal gear now. That ought to help. Instead of flowers they're using old jewelry. (good idea! )

Yes, I have noticed more and more men buying them for themselves.

In the past 2 antique shows I have done I have sold about 35 pins, and that doesn't count the flea market where I sell :)

The older ones fly off the shelves. Bracelets and sterling jewelry flew away on me last month.

Not for the first time I bitterly regret selling off all my brooches ! Found these little demitasse souvenir cups . I was tickled because as yall know my mother is from Cuba . I never really find Cuban things in the wild here, wich is odd considering how close we are ! I love them. My grandmother would have too ! 1920s ?

The Capitolio was built from 1926 to 1929 so I expect a tad later. I'd expect this to be a little late to be the source of the image but it's certainly the same view.

Those probably came back with someone who went to Cuba to gamble, drink, or both. Real Cubans didn't want them since they were tourist souvenirs, is my guess. Now of course it's a different story. eBoo doesn't allow things from Cuba on its site, even though it says it does if they're old enough. I"d imagine they don't turn up all that often for those reasons.

Been busy but I've still finding some cool stuff. Most recent auction haul. I got a set of 10 1900s-1930s original examiner patents/drawings related to music reproduction machines lol. But the wife would not let me walk away without getting her the candelabras. Set of two of both the 3 and 5 arms baroque style and a single Romeo and Juliet candelabra :) PXL_20250815_000616088.jpg PXL_20250815_000701166.jpg PXL_20250815_001934386.jpg PXL_20250815_001912502.jpg PXL_20250815_002004644.jpg

Lumii_20250815_093051015.jpg I went to two estate sales last week. Didn't know which one to go to first, the one I went to was advertised as a "jewelry lovers dream"- it wasn't. A guy ran to the jewelry before me trying to find gold-bwahaha, nope. I did find these, necklaces $12, rosary $4. Of course I dropped the pink one, broke two beads, but I will reconfigure it.

They did have an old sterling dresser set there. I only bought the mirror for $28. Trying to repeatedly clean it up, just worked on the top back so far.

The second estate sale had tons of older stuff, got there late. The compacts were $2. I fell in love with the vase, $35.

Anyone else watching Millionaire Hoarders? Marko's compacts reminded me of a recent episode -- a fellow had a house full of his compact collection. He wanted to make 10,000 pounds to learn to become a make up artist. It was a truly huge and serious collection.

Marko scored on those blue beads with the roses. They do NOT turn up here. I have some yellow ones, but shelled out $50 for mine. I overpaid, but good luck finding more...until she did.

Some non-jewelry items. Estate sale where I got the compacts and vase. The vintage hats were $4 each, the big green one is Nine West, price tag of $34.95 still on it, $5. Keeping the red ones, the rest going to the consignment shop. The Avon mirror was $1. Lumii_20250816_134215175.jpg

This vintage fingertip bridal veil is perfect. It has pearls throughout. The comb needs to be reattached, but that is an easy fix. It was in that estate sale where Instuffed a bag for $25.

Estate sale today I attended. The company has always started sales on Fridays, running through Sundays. This week and next they are only doing Saturday and Sunday. They usually start at 9, now it's 10. The line was down the street at 9:45. I was in the second queue to be let in. People were buying things at prices I laughed at. Used women clothing and shoes, $14, nothing special. Pillows $8. Tons of glassware. One woman had most of the jewelry, not vintage, not sterling, strictly newer costume I would not buy at all at $12 to $10 a piece. The line to pay was long. I bought this capiz shell placemat that I thought was a tray and the white mermaid for $10 each.
