Hello. Can any of our members from Holland offer any information on this beautifully painted 28cm diameter wall hanging plate? It is signed by Paul Van Dort who I found worked for De Porceleyne Fles in the 1950s and finished with them in the 1970s. I then discovered that he did artwork for plates for Royal Goedewaagen. However, this piece has no factory mark and I wonder if it is simply a blank decorated by Paul or did he set up a studio? The internet has very little about him.

It bears the Porceleyne Fles mark, which is the squat apothecary bottle in the second line.
De Porceleyne Fles means 'the porcelain bottle'.

Presumably RD means Royal Delft, but let's wait for the others to be sure.

So similar in design to a mantón de Manila. Not a surprise, of course.

I actually have two pieces. The second is a lidded jar with similar decoration. No bottle in that mark. IMG_2025-08-20-172520.jpeg

eBay links are no longer open-able. One has to do a search with the item numbers.

I'm thinking the initials inside the bottle mark might be PvD.

There was a P v Dort at Fles according to this website, 1952-69, but I don't know for sure it was Paul. Maybe someone else has a good reference for that. The Royal Goedewaagen connection is a little easier to find but the dated things, like the plates in the link above, are quite a bit newer dating to the 90s.

    Sorry I don't know anything.

Certainly could be. Makes more sense than my Royal Delft.;)
