It looks a lot like Nemadji, but I don't know if the two are connected.

I have some Nemadji. The two are different as far as I can tell. One in Minnesota and the other in Montana. But it looks similar.

Not Nemadji. More similar to Garden of the Gods pottery. Color is applied (oil slick application). Pots like this pop up from time to time, often with different tourist destinations on the bottom. Can't say I have ever been able to determine their original source, though they could have been made by Garden of the Gods pottery for others.

    Thank you @verybrad
In researching, I've found the same type from several different States, all with the similar marked base. So souvenir, but someone was making all this pottery.

"Eric Hellman sold his swirled pottery to souvenir shops all across the U.S." Google is great..

Just spent a little time researching this. Garden of the Gods Pottery did indeed produce their own wares. Eric Hellman was the man behind the pottery and he also designed the look for Nemadji, developing the oil-slick method of decoration used by both potteries. Looking on line for swirl pottery, I find several examples with similar circle markings on the bottom with different designations. One said Painted Desert Pottery. Another said Central City Colorado but also added made in Colorado rather than USA. One said Seven Falls and also added made in Colorado. Think this points to Hellman as the primary source for all this pottery.

Edit: See you reached this same conclusion ;)

Even 60 years ago...(sigh) Then again, the fine art of importing "local" souvenirs was already well-established.
