:playful: see what i did there

theres a new young seller shop in town , sweetest lad you ever met (18?)

    a bit of everything really

all the paintings were a pound each

picked 4 that i liked (photo one just for frame)

i gave him 20 for the 4 (i still think i did alright)

he's obviously on the spectrum somewhere (all he ever says is yeah really slowly but sweetly)
(doubled checked he was happy with deal, think thrice

anyway, i quite like the drawing anyway(even the chubby hand:playful:)

I'm guessing all but the photo are about the same age. One print is dated 1845 and the gent looks ..1870s-ish? I'd say you did OK.

Here's your 'Poultry (Market) Cross Salisbury', looks like they heavily restored it ? From around 1450-no wonder it needed a roof job !

If a lithograph, is isn't modern enough to display half-tone dots. I'll 'guess' it's a drawing...will wishin' make it so?

Flowers for the last 10K+ yrs have been mondo symbolic (except for now !), wouldve also been in Georgian/Regency & Victo eras I believe.
PS-Perhaps a memento mori memorializing a lost child 'reaped' in the flower of his youth, but now 'at play in the fields of the Lord' ?

Love the one of the poultry cross. I've seen that style used quite a lot by 20th century artists. Monochrome with a single coloured item standing out. Seems they were a bit ahead of their time.

i know what you mean bud, also reminds me of grand tour type brooches

its the emptyness of it i guess, and in contrast to the modern pic, 2 different worlds
