I grabbed this in Bury yesterday. Looks like Stelvia according to Google. Looking closely at the base, something funky has happened and it's not a clean finish. It doesn't look like a break as the glass looks like it's fused as one, but it looks a tad untidy. Maybe some kind of mishap during its creation, but you'd expect them to throw it on the pile.

Thank you. It's not that hard with a small amount of knowledge. All you need is a decent background and good light. I have a small table in my lounge window and a big piece of black card on it. I have a cyan piece too for versatility. Direct sun light burns the photos out so I have to wait for a cloud to come along or for the sun to not be shining directly on the object. Either before noon or after tea time.
Camera is a Nikon Coolpix 500 which can be picked up for about £100 nowadays as they have been on the market so long. It's a really good bridge camera though and has fantastic zoom and anti shake if you want to do any other kind of photography.. All that said though, most phones take really good close up photos nowadays. They only lack at distance
    That's it really.

I can't remember if they would fire polish the applied bases but it is a bit sloppy. One way to tell for certain would be to blacklight that base - any old (or new) 'repair' would light up like a Christmas tree. I agree with the beautiful photography!

So the bases were applied rather than it being blown from one lump o glass? Will any light do?

It may be a little weird, but maybe they were trying to mimic the upper edge at the base? Just a guess.
Or place it in the seconds shop where it would surely be purchased.

I don't really know. Putting myself in their shoes, I wouldn't have been able to toss that vase aside.
