Featured Opinions On This Set Mexican? Maricopa?

    Cool set I bought. Looking for ID. Vase/jug is 7 1/2" tall cup is 4 1/4" tall.

    It appears to be glazed, so that rules out Maricopa, or any Native American tribe.

    I would guess it to be Mexican, based on the forms and design patterns. But it could be a studio pot, or just someone experimenting with a non-traditional design, and therefore made by anyone.

    The design of the bird is not something I have seen before, but the forms themselves, remind me of traditional water bottles made in Mexico.

    Agree-- and not just the glaze but the designs too do not look Maricopa to me. The Maricopa pottery I've encountered is also thicker than the mouth of the one you show.

    Ditto. In which case the cup also serves as a cover to keep beasties out, as below. Yours is particularly pretty.:)
