Parlor Clock - How do I set the time and strike?

    Greetings. Picked up this parlor clock and the work on the case is just about done. However I don't know how to synchronize the time and strike since I cleaned and oiled the movement. Also, why the two hammers?

    And I'd appreciate any ideas as to the manufacturer and time frame. There was some mark on the movement at one time but I can't make it out. Thanks!

    Thinking ca. 1880 for the year. The second strike may be an alarm. My experience with setting the hour and first strike is to match the hour to the strike, then move the minute hand slowly forward, allowing it to strike the hour, until it matches the correct time.

    Thank you all for your input. Another question: what is the purpose of the 'hour' indicator below the hands? Is this an alarm setting?
