It seems to be made of a dense and very hard plater type material. It came out of an old abandoned church I am working on.

It's a copy of da Vinci's painting The Last Supper. Widely reproduced in all sorts of mediums.

Would you guess it to be from the 1960's?

With that base, could be. But doesn't really matter. They're widely available and have been for (literally) ages. Yours has damage, I see.

Thanks.. I am just trying to inventory the pieces abandoned when the church closed around 2010. I have been working on trying to save the church. Screenshot 2025-08-25 at 8.44.09 PM.jpg

No, it was a rural African American Baptist church.

1900-ish? Holds about 50 people, tops? That's how they built them in rural farming communities.

Charming church building, it deserves to be saved. Love the pews, looks like they were made with limited tools by a rural carpenter. Nice and sturdy, made with love.

I guess the base on the Last Supper is 1950s.

Very possible. If it were too much later would be resin rather than plaster.

What a lovely place it would be for a wedding! What was it called, and where is it?

Many a wedding happened there, no doubt.

It looks exactly like I expected. Maybe maxed out at 60 people instead of 50, depending on pew size. There was an upright piano in the front, if anything, and board on the wall with the numbers of the hymns. The books were under the pews.

That's not surprising unfortunately. It was far too heavy to move. The guts are long past repairing probably, barring locating the proper "magician", but if you're restoring the church it could be cosmetically fixed up a bit. A good wax polish would do wonders. A few serious engineering geeks with a musical bent might manage to make it playable again, if there are such near the church. It might make a heckuva class project.
