So at the antique show yesterday I sold 15 pins :)

But better yet I found some pins to buy. The two on the bottom are Georg Jensen, the top one is a probably a Jensen wana-be only marked sterling. I will research it just in case, but the other two are properly marked. I had to pay up for them but I will still make some profit when I sell them :)

Impossible to wear them on any light layers now so i can't indulge in summer, and a chunk of fall and spring. But once the temp drops enough i try to put one on each jacket, blazer and coat i wear. Sometimes on a sweater. It's a nice extra bit of interest in an outfit.

I use Wright's Silver Cream, it comes with a sponge. You dampen the sponge, take up some of the polish and apply it. It foams and washes away with water. I like it because I never nd up with dry bits of polish left behind :)

Here are the fronts, backs and marks...

Pin 1 is a well known design with a good mark:
    Pin1.jpg

Pin 2, I am trying to find reference for the USA mark. I find several for sale but no reference yet on the mark being genuine. I will keep looking.
    Pin2.jpg

Pin 3 has the look but not the refined finish for Jensen, it's the Jensen wana-be. The way the roll over clasp is attached doesn't seem right, some of the shapes are crudely edged and the finish is rough especially in the flower.

I didn't know Jensen made anything here in the USA, unless there was another company.

I know they sold here but not if it was made here.

This is what AI says, I need to verify:
Yes, Georg Jensen jewelry was made in the USA, particularly in the 1940s when Georg Jensen Inc. in the United States hired American designers La Paglia and JoPol to create jewelry in the Jensen style during a time when Danish artisans were unavailable due to World War II. This U.S.-made jewelry was stamped "Georg Jensen Inc. USA".

That explains the brass pinback; the makers were using what was available.

Hard to believe AI got it right for a change, but it's true, though there's much more to it - if you'd like, I can see if it's in the Jensen USA book.

The last one is a recast of a 1940s Viking Craft brooch...

Thank you Cheryl for the information. If you happen to have the book handy that would be great, but don't go to any trouble.

And thanks for the info on the recast piece. I love to get my hands on the original Viking Craft piece for comparison :)

No trouble, my Jensen books are always available (unlike many others, which are packed away).

Here's the original (I also have the original 1940 patent in my files if you'd like to see it):

From Drucker's 'The American Designs: Georg Jensen' (2008):

Didn't find your exact piece in catalog pages from Georg Jensen Inc. USA, but similar LaPaglia pieces appeared in 1944 to 1951 catalogs - it is shown in a circa 1952 catalog of pieces made by LaPaglia for International Silver, yours is #132, it was priced at $15:

This page from a 1951 Jensen USA catalog shows the #145-2 ($15) and #109 ($10) International brooches as #7 and #8:

Went to three estate sales last Friday, more photos and stories to come later. My favorite find was this, got there an hour after the sale started, surprised to find it. Not perfect, Rose quartz stone on top cracked and missing a few stones, but the one in the picture had missing stones, too, and it sold. $8, marked Austra.

Yes. I'm telling you, when I go and can't take it all with me, none of these local companies is doing my estate sale.
