Featured unusal large metal sppo/scuttle spoon?

    aaaaaaaaanother thing from the boot. got a great look to it, think maybe copper base

    my only thought was a scoop for coal?

    thinking about that probably not as VeryThin/Light/Hollow

    any thoughts appreciated

    Yes, an Indonesian rice scoop. I think from Java. I have seen similar ones carved from buffalo horn.

    marvelous, thanks for info peeps,am guessing a bit of age then. the bit of cotton on it spoke dealer tag to me (even though the tag part was missing) as well ;)

    Some charity shops round here have them string tags on. Not great provenance :cigar:

    It's a beauty. I hope no one ever thinks of using it to scoop coal.

    Donuts for brains? Sounds about right. The workers at the Ill Will would bin it too in all likelihood.

    Nice find in all seriousness. Never seen anything like it.

    Neither has Google apparently. Do you think the metal end was fitted retrospectively or are they standard?
