Asian Wicker Vase

Made somewhere in Asian, maybe China? I guess not old, maybe from the 70's? Has an insert. What are those, bamboo?

No , not that old....but it's nice in it's design.
It's Chinese ...modeled after a Japanese Ikebana flower basket !

I have one and have sold others and these puppies attract dust and dirt like magnets....& are hard to clean.

The wood handles are a Chinese addition and to my eye take away from the nice weaving...

How is it modeled after Japanese Ikebana basket? To me, the body looks like pineapple skin.

Komo, those are so beautiful. Do you have them at your home? What's your address, and when are you away from the house? Do you have a big dog, or alarm system? I'm just doing some research about the correlation of spectacular basket collecting and household security routines.
