I'd be curious to know who the market is for these.

Good question Deborah. Apparently there is a market.

I do think this one is the kind that 2many books pointed out.

If we could see the back of any of these carvings it might settle the question of material. If Lizzie's is cast resin of some sort, I think we might see some identical ones out there.

Yes, it is Balinese and bone.

Something doesn't have to be Balinese for the Balinese to make it. Bali has a considerable replica and 'made in the style of' industry, and they are very much in touch with what people want, especially the Boho etc crowd that is ever-present on Bali nowadays.

Thank you all for the opinions, knowledge and advice. The silver back on my piece is marked 925, although poorly struck. As to why Bali would make pieces that replicate NA, I don't think it is uncommon for other countries to produce items that copy ethnic jewelry or other items. A big thanks to 2manybooks for the links to the Bali items similar to mine and to Any Jewelry for confirming. Below is a picture of the 925 mark and if you look at a side picture of my piece, it can be seen that the white has been hand inserted as the rim has been hammered to fit it.

    P.S. Happy Birthday Charlie

I think it is very cool but I am not keeping it. I got it for resale and needed to make sure I would list it properly. You guys are all great and always appreciated.
