It was a bear of a job, sounds like. The restorer knew what he was doing, or I hope he did!

How did I miss this? I love Rookwood pottery! When they tore down the old high school (which was now the elementary school) in Harrison, Ohio, there was a drinking fountain made by Rookwood pottery built into the wall. They did a 'tour the old school for a last goodbye' which we went to, and I asked about it, and they said they were putting it into the new elementary school they were building. It was the most beautiful drinking fountain I had ever seen. They sure don't make things like that anymore!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

That's amazing work! And preservation of history, too -- wonderful!
