    Hi All

Keen to find out more about this teapot I bought in an online auction recently.
I think it has a bit of age to it but Google Lens is not helping me find anything similar to it, or to it's rather indistinct touch marks. First 4 photos + last photo.
    Any help appreciated.
In the same lot was a Tudric dish - the type that usually has an iridescent blue/green enamel interior base or a plain pewter one. Couldn't see it in the photo as the teapot was standing in it, but this one appears to have been painted over (very roughly) so perhaps the enamel was damaged. Should I attempt to remove the paint as I would prefer it without anything and if so, any ideas how I would got about that as I have no idea if the type of paint. Next 3 photos
Lastly - I would be keen to find out the age/maker of this pewter candle holder - again with indistinct touch marks - but clearly marked 95%. Next 2
    photos
    Thanks in advance

    Love the spout.:)

The winged angel is usually a Dutch mark for "engeltjestin", angel tin. Before 1850 that was a mark of quality, at least 92% tin. Later it became a general mark.

I've looked through some books a bit for your first mark. It's hard to say if parts of your mark are in them or not as there is much of yours that's not readable. I didn't find a shield with GEN or OEN yet, or an angel in that exact pose. It probably would help if whatever else wasn't so obscured. (isn't life like that:rolleyes:)

There are few illustrated with the crown X and four shields all together but here is one to give you an idea. In this case, SU stands for Soviet Union. This book, StarĂ¡'s Pewter Marks of the World, is from 1977.
