Hi, I’m thinking this might be Czech but appreciate all help. Has a metal tube and the atomiser has hardened so thinking not too modern, although can’t be sure. It’s 18cm high. Spatter is red and blue on a clear ground. Many thanks.

Czech glass seconded. Just don't ask me who made the rest, or where.

I agree with the crowd as to the origin of the bottle. The hardware is Marcel Franck c.1925, but it did not start out with that plastic siphon tube. It would have had a very thin metal siphon tube. They are often bent and/or horribly clogged with old perfume crud.

Plastic siphon tubes were used starting in the early 1950s.

The puffer bulb is also a c.1920s model. It appears to be hard & cracked, which is not unusual for 100-year-old rubber. ;)

The hardware is shown on page 63 of "The Perfume Atomizer: An Object with Atmosphere" by Tirza True Latimer.

BTW - Neither of the "issues" with this piece would deter a collector, as we usually are not buying bottles to use. We just admire them as small works of art.:smuggrin:

I could hear said collectors' voices in my ears last week. I picked up a perfume bottle made of clear glass with enameled "jeweling" last week... for a whole dollar. The metal was still there mostly, but the rubber bulb was long gone. Stopped me not. :D Not at that price it didn't.

Many thanks @bercrystal - the tube is the original thin metal one and yes the rubber puffer bulb has gone hard and is cracked. Good to know it’s original and Czech.

As @Any Jewelry states above, the hardware is French.

Marcel Franck sold their hardware to many other companies, including some of the commercial perfume makers.

Your bottle would have been sold empty for you to take it to your favorite shop to buy your favorite fragrance.:happy:

It must just be the way the light was hitting it when you took the photo.
