    I am continuing to go through the drawers of jewelry & came across this strand of pink beads. :happy:

    They are cool to the touch, so glass or possibly some kind of stone. :confused: The beads range from 8.93 mm to 3.73 mm. The strand is 16 3/4" end to end & has an 8 1/2" drop.

    Thank you for any & all advice or opinions!! :happy::happy::kiss:

    My first instinct is Japanese glass. Maybe Czech. The stringing is older but I can't see the clasp for beans. It may be meaningless if they've been restrung at least once.

    I forgot to include the clasp. :oops::shame:

    It is one I have never seen, but we all know my jewelry knowledge is limited. I know just enough to get me in trouble. ;):rolleyes::smug::hilarious:

    There are no marks on the clasp. :happy:

    I don't recall seeing this exact thing either, but I'm with Ruth that it is likely glass. The clasp is also one I've not seen, but looks to be costume.

    It reminds me a bit of satin glass. Nice beads.

    Thank you! :happy::happy:

    Maybe if I post them at the same time as the other beads I posted last week, someone who makes beaded jewelry might spot them. They are a very pretty shade of pink. :happy::happy:

    Satin glass with the stripe in the center. I've never seen that toggle clasp either and have no idea where it came from. It looks like something the Japanese would have done, but there's no way to be 100% sure.

    I had that on a pearl necklace that was in my aunt fur coat pocket her son sent me. The pearls were actually real (not costume) & had them restrung with the usual pearl clasp lock thing for my Granddaughter.

    That's...odd, but if they were strung in the USA who knows. The Czechs as far as I know didn't use real or faux pearls much, and the Japanese (who did both, early and often) wouldn't have used Czech beads.

    I think you guys got pretty darn close. :happy::happy:

    IMHO, these beads were strung by an amateur beader. I tried restringing a couple of things at one point & decided it was not for me. This strand looks just like the ones I tried to do. :shame::p:rolleyes::hilarious::hilarious:

    There is a full 1/4" gap between the beads & the clasp on the end. It looks like it is strung on some type of cotton string, as it looks a little frayed when I looked at it with my loupe. :happy::happy:
