    Hi community!
I would like to ask, is there any nice reference books for antique glasses? With shape reference etc. what you would recommend?
    Many thanks.

Glasses like you wear on your eyes or glasses like you drink from?

Thank you, you made me smile.

Of course—the kind you drink from. I found a lovely book and ordered it, but until I open it I can’t say anything about the quality of the material.

I’m sure the collectors here can point me toward the right literature.

I’d love to build a stronger theoretical foundation, so thank you in advance for any recommendations.

I'm not sure if this is the time period you're interested in but this is from 1971 and is about 431 pages of this type of information. Eighteenth Century English Drinking Glasses by Bickerton

I must say, it wasn't clear to me either. Besides, we have at least two eyeglass aficionados on the forums, so it was a possibility.

O, my! To the best of my knowledge, there is no single volume that will give you information on all the types and patterns of glassware. If you collect from a specific period or a specific type or even a specific brand, then you'll need to look for books within those categories. There are also online groups in those categories. There's a lot out there and much to learn!

Prepare yourself for a lot of reading. I know enough to (maybe) recognize it, but that's all.

Thanks! I have noticed this book, but after your recomendation I will buy it. Today i received one small book, with some illustration. But not a lot of information. Hope this one will be better.

Hi! For sure, one book is nothing. But there is always a point to start. When I am buying, I can feel old glass, but can't attribute it. Education is a long process and I like that sooo much! Thank you!

Thanks! It will be nice journey)
I will post some of my glass now. I think it is 1785-1800. Cracked but I don't care. I love all my items so much.

Yikes it's gotten pricey! I purchased mine used quite some time ago and don't remember it being too much.

I don't collect a lot of glass so I was hoping you'd get lots of suggestions that then I could use too.

Information is priceless you know that. Good books costs, because without them it is just beautiful glasses without history

Probably not because I do like having a reference library. (Don't know that I'd ever purchase a replacement at the prices I'm seeing.)
