    Another trip to Bury today. I nearly missed them as they were on the bottom shelf tucked right in. I have identified them as Jean-Claude Taburet, Quimper. One has a couple of people depicted in the centre who appear to be dressed in period clothing. One is playing bag pipes, the other some kind of woodwind instrument or horn. The other has some guy on a horse over a mermaid. I haven't a clue what the connection is.
    C 1950s I think
    Ø= 20cm

    Not "period" clothing. "Traditional."

    i don't think it matters a jot between them being 1950s or 2000s, seems a good name....and more importantly nice plates ;)

    So 'period clothing' is used for a specific time in history? Eg 'The film was set in the late 18th century and the cast were wearing period clothing'.

    Yes.
    Your first plate depicts men in traditional Breton dress, aka Breton regional dress.

    @charlie cheswick yep, you can (or could) get Branston Pickles at 'World Market' (the old Cost Plus) abt 5 miles down the road. Great store for international eats.It's where we bought our Perrier Jouet for our wedding.
