You could probably take that jacket somewhere and have a new zipper put in. You'd likely get another 50 years out of it, so a good investment.

That was the first thing I thought. But I am Dutch, don't want to spend money if I still have a good jacket.:joyful:
Overhere there are some dry cleaners who do it, and Turkish and Middle Eastern tailors.

Impossible to buy something new with the same quality. Worth investing in, metal zipper et. al.

Saw 'Borsalino' as lad.Of course I'd seen 'Breathless' (Belmondo) and Delon in 'Le Samouri'. Delon was a glamour boy like Terence Stamp (RIP) or Warren Beatty, while Belmondo had a great hound dog face like the old Yves Montand.

I've got a late 30's/very early 40's leather US Army flight jacket (M 422-A). There's sources that carry authentic, correct NOS Talon military zippers. Might restore it one day-who knows ?

given the near freezing conditions (typical autumn everyone else feels here :shifty:)

i'm gonna go for one of them leather fur flying caps i think this winter.......had a near perfect one once but a size or two too small

gotta be military issue though like the too small one was ;)
