I found this heavy hand made brass bracelet on a local market here in Cape Town.
It is decorated by simple markings and shows a lot of wear and tear. I am not sure if it is a currency bracelet as 298grams is really heavy to wear on arm.
    Any help will be welcome

It looks like a Berber bracelet, from North Africa.
    Not a currency bracelet.

Do Berber bracelets come in 300 gram (10.6 ounce) brass forms. Trying to find examples.

Yes, they do. Berber/Amazigh cultures are very diverse. Berbers are spread out across a huge part of the world with very different conditions and many different cultural influences. For instance, Mediterranean Amazigh, often with a connection to southern Spain/Portugal or the Arab-influenced cities have very different jewellery from the people living in the Sahara.

But I think komo's example is very close, so something to look into. There is also some overlap between Ethiopia and neighbouring North Africa on the one side, and Ethiopia and Yemen on the other.
