From one of those "once in a decade" estate sales. A few exceptionally good rings also purchased, not shown.

This is the coral I got. Brooch is signed, an unusual designer. It's probably the most valuable piece of the lot. I rarely find coral. Had a few questions on the strands.

Anything special I should mentioned other than hand knotted, 14K clasp and angel skin coral?

Do I call this angel skin as well? Chips? Branches? What to call this style?

Do I just call this "Natural branch red coral?"

I'm selling this as well, I have all the info I need already but here's another photo. Going to leave the designer's name off this thread since I plan to sell. It's massive. There is even a tiny white barnacle on one of the branches. My favorite of the lot. Thanks for taking a look.

The angelskin that you are asking about- I have seen these beads referred to "dog bone." I have a 1920s very good fake glass necklace in this bead style. My goodness, what a score!!! Need to see the rings!!! I am loving the round bead angelskin necklace!

My Cuban great aunt wore lots of coral jewelry. She said it brought good luck and protection. What a haul !

Nice score! Could you show us the brooch back without spelling out the name? Now I want to know!

I have a pearl necklace with very similar 14k gold clasp to the first necklace you showed, probably of similar age:shy:

Beautiful! The angel skin necklace is indeed very exquisite, would love to have such. Unfortunately, all my coral pieces (a few, to be honest) are branch corals, no round-shaped ones.

Nice finds, I especially like the brooch. Greatest score on the round angelskin bead necklace.:)
Dog bone coral beads are usually rounded on the ends which are also thicker than the middle part. They have more of a 'waist'. I would call these beads coral branch, just like the red ones. And yes to angelskin.

These are dog bone coral beads as I know them:

I think there are variations of the dog bone cut. But I think you are right, it's just the way this angelskin coral is cut, thinner in the middle, wider at the ends.

Very nice. I am shocked esty did not pull that listing you showed.
We are not allowed to say coral or bone in any listings.
But if you want to put a hex on someone they are cool with that.

    So I'd hope, but K of a city or H C wouldn't surprise me.

The brooch definitely has a Miriam Haskell energy to it, but not M. H., not KJL not H.C.

Honestly I had never heard of this designer before getting this piece. The pieces are kind of rare which is why I'm being vague because I'm planning to sell in a week...

It's not the one I keep an eye out for - Maida Heatter. She was a 1930s Industrial Deco fan, whose line went away during WWII. This is a 50s brooch and not her style at all.
