Hi there fellow historians and collectors. I have this little trinket box, or maybe it's a snuff box. It has a mark on the bottom that I have not been able to find through my own research. Would very much appreciate any thoughts!

Please note that there is glare on the lid from the lights overhead, not any kind of mottling of the painting.

It's a little too big for snuff...

right but unless I'm confused, these Meissen marks don't match exactly. Any thoughts about what it might be?

welcome to the forum @rivkas5786 :)

Nice little box. I'm no expert, but I don't think Meissen.
Maybe @say_it_slowly will pop in and have a look:)

Not Meissen - but that's about all I can guess at.

Meissen is one of those heavily copied marks. To me it looks more Victorian era.

I found this in my book Collector's Handbook of Marks & Monograms on Pottery & Porcelain by Chaffers. It has it under Tournay in the Holland and Belgium porcelain section but only shows marks, no history.

It led me to this site with lots of info on Tournay / Tournai porcelain and included the following page

I believe I found the source of the page shown on the information site above. I believe the page is from Burton & Hobson's book Handbook of Marks on Pottery & Porcelain, this link is to the 1919 edition

It certainly looks right for the period. Great to find the Tournay mark.

This is AMAZING! I just came back to all this wonderful and welcoming information, thank you all so much for taking the time to respond. That Tournay mark looks like a match! How cool - I am beyond grateful for the help.
