    hi folks....... found this in a new shop that has just opened (a new vintage clothes like boutique :woot:, guy called mitch)

    wanted 25 so offered 20 an accepted

    i really like it, and presuming has age

    any thoughts of info appreciated

    won't seem to translate who the artist is though. but seem quite a few different examples of his work

    that just looks like mumble jumble to me.....so how can you tell a reproduction corporate gift......?

    "Tomimoto Corporation". "Group Head". But I'm laughing. When I run the same text from the copy of your woodblock on the linked web site, it translates it to this: So much for Google Translate.

    The artist is Utagawa Kunimaro, active ca 1830-1860. But I don't know the title.

    Famous geishas were a favorite subject of wood block artists. They were the high-end entertainers of their day.

    It’s not terribly old to me, at least not dated back to Edo or something. But you might want to open the frame and see if there’s any mark on the back. The print I posted last time bears a mark by the publisher on the back, if you remember! They might also stated when it’s printed. Also the text in the white block is just titles of the actor on the top and two geishas depicted in the picture I think!:D

    aha, didn't remember that ;) looks like i'm gonna have to open it up then, theres a bit a water damage on the matt, so might have to anyway...

    also can get some decent pics without the glass ;)

    yeah thats just reflection in the glass, the top of my shower (i think) to be precise :)
