Just picked up this 6" high Ginbari Cloisonne Bowl (alas no mark-but cheap). Would you describe this as 'ruby red' or pigeon 'blood' in color ?
    PS-Still looking for marks (Ando !). Thanks Ya'll. Clois1.jpg Clois2.jpg Clois3.jpg Clois4.jpg Clois5.jpg

Thanks AJ-I rarely grab Cloisonne:there's a fair amount of new stuff,it's frequently bashed, and it's often overpriced. This, for less than the price of a sandwich-had to come home.

I'd call it Mineminemine ginbari. It's a clear red for sure, so ruby works.

    Beautiful @bosko69
The Pigeon blood term is used more often on these Japanese Ginbari pieces, but either works.

Thanks Fig and gracias Mikey for the tip on color description.
PS-Long as no real pigeons were killed in the making of this piece !
