Picked up this Ivy in Snow (AKA Forest) cake stand at the thrift this week. As you can see, the pattern is stained pink. I can find this pattern in clear, ruby stained, and gold flashed. No pink. Has someone done this after the fact? .... or is it ruby that has faded?.... or is this a rarity? Color does not wash off. Last two photos are taken from top and underneath, in order.

I can only find one other square version of this on the internet right now so does not seem all that common. If this has been stained after the fact, how much will that affect value? Trying to determine if I should just stick this in my brick and mortar at less than $30.00 or hold out for better on ebay.

I would think it is cranberry stain vs a faded ruby stain. I've seen Tiffin KC with this stain. Possibly was made that way

there were various lighter colored stains other than ruby; including rose, blush (Maiden's Blush) and cranberry. I checked Heacock 7 and he doesn't mention the other stains as the book is mostly dedicated to ruby stain.

I see EAPGS has several different stains shown for Forest but didn't see an example of blush:

Personally, I would sell it on line. It's hard to find and square and pinkish, all good points in its favor. The condition appears to be very good. It certainly seems worth more than $30. What if you called it cranberry stain and asked at least $60-75 for it? Can someone on the board tell you what the clear example on WP went for? I really like it and Valentine's Day is not that far off. BTW, did you take the photos on top of the washing machine? They came out really well.

Thank you to everyone for your input. The only square one I found is unsold on ebay Australia for AU$75. (just under $50 US). Item #372792528172.

I did not see the one on worthpoint. Looking just now, I see there are a few. Looking now at live auctioneers, I see 2 clear ones sold at auction for $25.00 and $40.00. An amber stained one sold for $110.00.

Not sure what I am going to do. I haven't been selling on ebay for years. I may just stick it in the store for $49.00 and see what happens. If it does not sell, I can always throw it into my for ebay pile ;)

Sure did. I don't have a good set up for photos right now so have been shooting small items on the washing machine. Quick and easy on the fly but I can't always crop out the lid lines.
