    Again, I have never had something this small.

    This piece is 2 3/8" to the top of the lid & is 1 1/4" across the largest part. No marks that I could find.

    Any information would be wonderful!! :happy::happy:

    Thanks!! :happy::kiss:

    I am amazed that the lid was still with it, since it is a very loose fit & is quite tiny. ;):smuggrin::smuggrin:

    Just a WAG, but I think the lid used to have a plastic spoon like dipper, so I'm guessing it's a snuff bottle. Whatever held the spoon would fit over the brass neck of the bottle lid and help hold it tight.

    I think you are correct about snuff bottle. I saw 2 similar on Antiques Roadshow just a couple of nights ago.

    Ditto, many have lost their lids.
    I don't think it was made as a snuff bottle. I think it was part of a series of cloisonné miniatures made for export.
    Those plastic spoons were fitted in lower quality ceramic and glass snuff bottles. Brass snuff bottles had brass spoons that were an integral part of the stopper.

    Below is what cloisonné snuff bottles usually look like, three cuties from my collection.
    As you can see, even though the three bottles all have a different style of cloisonné, the execution of all three is different from the cloisonné of your bottle.
