    Hello all!
How can I tell if this is a pottery barn fake, a good replica or the real deal?

    Thank you for your assistance!

Had to google what pottery barn is.;) It is a US store. Chinese manufacturers make great quantities of ceramics every year, but I have never heard of them manufacturing specifically for a US store, I think that would be too restricting for their vision of international trade. Urns like yours can be found all over the world.

As komo said, the mark on your urn is an honorific or apocryphal mark, made as a reference to an earlier period. It is not intended to deceive.

Modern or not it's beautiful. I love it. More photos might be helpful to determine actual age. The ceramic on the foot rim gives good clues.

From the style and quality, I would reckon 20th c somewhere, maybe first half. You could try gotheborg.com to find the mark, but reading the information posted there is very helpful. I find dating Chinese wares a bit of a minefield.

More photos would be helpful but it looks new to me. I’d guess within the last three decades. Top, bottom, and inside would be good views to start with. Good looking though, bright and cheerful.
