Nice Community

Hi Everyone,

I'm here because I want to learn more about the collection of antiques I inherited from my dad in 2010, a lifetime Antiquer from the SF Bay Area. My house in the Santa Cruz mountains was destroyed in the 2022 to 2023 floods. I salvaged what was salvageable, put it all in storage, moved to Panamá, married a Panamanian, bought a place here and recently had it all shipped.

The collection is only 14 items, mostly mission furniture, but also a patch work quilt from 1903 and a Dodge Brothers WWI propaganda poster, then....a wrench collection that I don't even know how to approach...wrenches from vehicles that existed in the early 1900s.

I've been on this forum for just over a day and have already received so much amazing feedback and information. What a nice community!!!! Thank you.

By day, I work remotely doing business development for a clinical stage biopharma company in Silicon Valley (medicines for the adverse effects of treatments like chemotherapy and radiation) and volunteer a bunch for non-profits focused on integral yoga.

Yes, it is anime. Because you asked, I'll show you here. I wouldn't know where to even post this. It is a little hard to photograph and I don't know where my dad even got it. He left a sweet note on the back asking people to please not cut open the paper on the back to look for cash!!! What do you think? I kind of suspect it should be in a museum.

 

It looks like a WWI poster, professionally framed. Don't ask me if it's original or worth anything.

Thank you both!!! This forum is so full of really nice people. My dad told me it is original, and, honestly, it is fun to find out how much things are worth, but I have very little interest in selling anything.
