Found this at the market this morning. Span it over. Puce Royal Worcester mark. Back o the net! When I was packing it I noticed a score mark down the side. Took the shine off it a little but still well happy. It was covered in that thick grease things acquire after being in a kitchen for a few years so I gave it a bath. It was only then I noticed more lines on it. It looks like the whole side has fell off at some point and been glued back on. My life is over. Cue Romeo and Juliet theme.

I think I might put it on the mantel piece with my other trophies of triumphs that never were. Pro rata prob cost me £10 ISH so not the end of the world.

    Height is roughly 20cm

Recently I seem to be missing all sorts of damage to items I have bought:(

I always do. I get carried with the initial euphoria and go wading in. My favourite is holding something where it is damaged. Cup handle, neck of a vase etc. some misses of glaringly obvious faults are inexplicable though. I'm considering registering myself as blind.

I failed to notice this chaps head had been glued on until it tipped over and fell off again!

Well, that is too bad. A nice piece. At least it wasn't a signed piece by Edward Raby. That would be worse. :D

The thick brown shiny old glue just looked like his collar, I had no idea he’d been repaired. I’m going to repair him of course.

It's like the blush stuff they do. Like a sheeny matte really. So decor rather than glaze I think? I don't know how they got the finish. Air brushing maybe?

yeah might be a good contender for a decent repair.

without a heavy glaze you can get things back to a nice sanded base level, then a little touch of the right shade n bingo.

depends on the effort you wanna put in

but i'd think about keeping it maybe as a nicely repaired home piece

The crack runs right through the decor so a bit tricky. :sorry:
