I have a few things to photograph...not a big bargain, but I got this large heavy Nicky Butler sterling cross today. I have been researching, haven't seen another one like it.

I'd wear that in a heartbeat! I'd love a station chain with matching crystals to put it on, and matching earrings. If you're going to do it, might as well go all in.

Thanks. It is HUGE. It's 3 and 3/4 inches long, and 2 and 1/2 wide. I loved the colors, close to suffragette colors, and for $100, I figured Nicky Butler was a good investment.

I got this picture for 50 cents. It made me laugh out loud in the shop.

Look at those chins! They must all be siblings. (Except for the young 'un who wasn't in line when chins were passed out.

I wondered what they were looking at in different directions and what was going on.

You've cropped the image. Am I correct in assuming it's a candid snap?

My guess is it was meant as a goofy photo, and goofy it is.

That sounds about right, size-wise. I have bigger pendants and wear them.

1940s. Those wallpaper panels behind them are quite interesting.

If you have been over in the silver section or perused the antique discussion section, you may have seen a few of the pieces shown. Although the lot wasn't a bargain, I still thought there was money to be made.

I posted the Cinnabar box last night & @komokwa thought he might have seen some marks on the tab handles. Unfortunately, there weren't any marks, just globs of the silver material that weren't smoothed out. I also blamed the half-assed polishing & blamed that on the fact that my hands were giving out by the time I got to that piece.:rolleyes::p

I promised to explain later & show the lot. There were actually 6 or so more pieces that I am going to send to the auction house. :smug::smug:

The jar in the back on the left has a Unger Bros. lid & the scene on the lid is Love's Dream AKA Cupid Kissing Venus. The jar in the back on the right has a Stieff lid. The other 2 jars are marked sterling. The one with the stars is Alpaca from Mexico. The oval glass dish was ID'd as Giancarlo Prini by @i need help.:happy:

I thought coming to an affluent area like the South of France would be better pickings. There's plenty for the costume lovers with a bit of cash, but nothing silver or old, and definitely zero for the budget mindful buyers :drowning:

So I was very pleased to pick up these yesterday. The snake rings I believe are tortoiseshell, though they're so small its hard to tell the material, I'm guessing based on the age? I think they're 19th century. Those were 50 cents and have polished up beautifully with a damp cloth and olive oil. The broken rattle was sold as silver and I got that for 12 euros, its 18.86 grams.

The rings are tortoiseshell all right. Just don't ask me the age.

Here's two interesting finds from last weekend's flea market. This canvas pouch has 17 stone cutting chisels and a hammer. A cool find at $7, one that I'll keep for now. I'll be on the lookout for a big block of alabaster.

And I thought this handmade leather pouch looked interesting. Inside are 78 cool tarot cards. The dealer I got it from said it belonged to a "white witch", which apparently means a witch who works to do beneficial magic. Not sure how the dealer got em..... $5.
