Gucci knitted top & bottoms - real? Lounge wear? Pajamas?

This was my thrift store find today! I'm not 100% sure they're real, although I found the knitted top with google image search (and the tag matched exactly), but I wasn't able to find the bottoms/pants anywhere?
    Are these real Gucci?
    What year are they from?
Why are there no examples of the pants? Maybe because more women bought just the top?
What are they worn for? Lounging around the house? Pajamas? An actual outfit worn outside?
Please help me with what I got!
    Thanks.

I would say it would be worn as clothing for outside. I don't know if it is genuine but it certainly reminds me of some outfits my grandmother rocked in the late 70's, but only if it came with a skirt. She never wore pants.

Look good to me. Streetwear. You should be able to date by the logo. 1998 to 2019 says the internet.

It looks real to me. Fakers wouldn't bother with the thread at the corners of the label.

Here's some things that tell you it's genuine Gucci. The label is hand-stitched on. The buttons are logo-ed and of quality. The stripes on the top and pants line up at the seams.

And you're right in that the top would have had greater distribution and sales than the pants which are harder to wear.

I put on my FB thrift store buyer page & someone asked for pic of the fabric tag - I can't believe I missed it !

What you want is the RN.

I don't believe Gucci would have an RN number, which is issued by the US Federal Trade Commission to identify US-based manufacturers or importers of textile products.

I agree that the set looks legit!

Sorry, you're right. It does say "Made in Italy."
