Hi hoping for help with this nice looking folding table with nice inlay. Purchased at an estate sale of a retired Smithsonian curator. Top is a solid piece, the center block is from a single piece and each of the three legs are one piece as well. Was wondering if anyone might know the style and time it was made? Thank you for your help. I love it and it fits nicely in a 1900 home.

Thanks guys. I like the fact it is all solid one piece section and the wood inlay at the center and by the edge looks really nice to me, understated. The feet are plain, will add a picture tomorrow.

I tried to match the latch , but found it on so many different tables.....that I gave up and instead concentrated on wood alone !!!

Hi. Hoping to figure out a rough year of manufacture, 1870"s 1900? Was the inlay all cut and made by hand? There is no metal piece on the bottom running from the center block (pardon my ignorance using a guitar term) to the legs. Here some detailed bottom pics and inlay close up. Thanks again.

With that multi-board top, I am thinking last quarter of the 19th century at the earliest. Quality of the foot carving is good so I doubt much, if any, later than that. Would also call it a tilt-top occasional table. If small size, might be considered a candle stand.

The back is saying 20th century to me. The hardware and wood just don't look old. It's a nice table, just not an old table.

It is over here, too.
(I've never heard such a table called a "folding" table.)
But whatever it's called, it's a pretty little thing!

Sorry for the confusion, in the 1960's there were card tables with folding legs and folks called them folding tables. I just applied the term sloppily. Next time your all over, I will serve tea on it. Thanks for the info, always appreciated.
