    hi folks

if you look at all those black dots (on shower floor) thats whats coming out of it

i only twigged as i kept having to sweep while more were falling out of her

    any help appreciated

She's a clothes pin doll - made from a wooden clothes pin, either original or made later for crafters.

The fabric is called 'broderie Anglaise', English embroidery, so called because it was popular in England in the 19th century. The way her skirt is gathered at the back is a late 19th-very early 20th century style.
So she is a cute little doll of a ca 1900 lady, all dressed for winter with her fur hat and muff.:)

If anything, I'd think she was inspired by the illustrations of Kate Greenaway who was extremely popular in the 1960s and her clothing was meant to invoke the Regency Era (with license.)

Seconded. That was the heyday for those dolls, and the makeup is pure 1960s "dolly". These dolls continued to be made, often from reproduction pins sold in craft stores, well into the 1990s.

If you squeeze her, is there a scent? I’m torn between thinking she’s a sachet (for a drawer or meant to be tied to a hanger) and my initial thought which was Christmas tree ornament. That ribbon on her back (visible in picture #5) could be tied to a branch.

I wouldn't think a Christmas ornament. (And no reason for her to be stuffed with seeds if she were.) A little something to scent a drawer more likely. What size is she?

......well i squeezed her and her.......head popped off :woot: ?........:playful:

yeah she's got that old musky fragrance (can you get a bottle of it anywhere? ) smell

so i think the hanger thing sounds very plausible

    a great help, thanks

    "charlie who ?"
......"you know charlie...boy hat........smells like musty vintage sachet dolls"

    " oooooh......iiiiiiiim" :shifty:

I was thinking if you watered her, her hair might grow like grass. Maybe not.
