A commemorative plaque made from mammoth tusk. The obverse depicts a Yakut man on a reindeer sleigh, and the reverse bears the inscription, "In memory of the harsh northern region. The village of Tiksi, 1988." What I like about these items is that they are one-of-a-kind.
My brother lived in Yakutia for a long time and carved mammoth tusks, so I had the opportunity to handle many of them. They differ from elephant tusks and are the only resource permitted for private harvesting.
It looks very good on the shelf)

    Regards, Lib13.

The village of Tiksi is located 1,000 km north of Yakutsk, Russia, in the far north, on the shores of the Arctic Ocean. The inscription is in Russian.

Thank you. She's not quite red, but more of a dark red. Whole carcasses are rarely found; fragments—paws —are most often found. This is a whole clump of fur, about 50 cm long, that was removed. The hair is very coarse to the touch and has no odor. You can do a radiocarbon dating, which will show how many years ago the animal died, but it costs $200. My wife didn't give me much space for my things, so a lot is still in boxes.
